Rooted In Florence
Founded by Mark and Lisa Ball in 2011, Velocity has evolved into a coffee-first Florence shop that still carries the same local, personal, family-shaped spirit behind the bar.
About Velocity
Velocity began with a broader original concept, but the through line has stayed the same: a local place to get a drink, stay awhile, and feel known. Today the shop is coffee-first, with monthly flavors, thoughtful service, and a comfortable neighborhood rhythm.
01
Mark and Lisa Ball opened Velocity on Burlington Pike in 2011, giving the shop real local memory instead of a made-up backstory.
02
Local ownership, thoughtful recommendations, and the feeling that every customer matters still fit the way the shop wants to serve people.
03
Cozy seating, a kid-friendly corner, and easy parking make Velocity feel more like a neighborhood hangout than a quick in-and-out stop.
